My Notes on Alcantaran Key Characters and Places
Ron Calvin welder, mechanic, electronics whiz. Has a gift of looking of looking at machinery and being able to make it work. He is 60 years old and has diabetes that requires insulin. He is married to Jill and has 3 grown children. A daughter lives in Kalispell, a son in Great Falls and another daughter in Salem, Oregon. He has 8 grandchildren. The daughter in Kalispell has 2 daughters (Jessie Lavin is Senior in high school but doesn't know what she wants to do. Has some scholarships but not enough to completely pay for college. Gayle, her sister is freshman.), his son has 2 boys and a girl and the other daughter had 3 boys. The three can communicate with ESP. It isn't as clear as speech, but improves as they do it more.
Tik Michi A Mis'stear from the galaxy Melpomene, planet Vesta IV. She is a small strawberry blonde furry creature that usually walks on four legs. She stands about 12" at the shoulder when on all four. She is about 30" tall when she stands on two legs. She has a fluffy tail about 1/3 the length of her body. Her fingers curl and she walks on the middle joint of her front paws when on all four. She has retractable claws much like a cat on all four paws. She has 3 fingers and an opposable thumb allowing her to pick up items and use a keyboard. She is quick tempered, fierce and fearless in a fight. She is a computer expert and can make many different styles and ones from many origins work. Needs sunlight or UV rays to help process her food. Her body doesn't extract essential minerals and vitamins if she doesn't have enough UV light. Tik can read some of the Bugs feelings through ESP but she hates the feeling it leaves in her mind. Tik doesn't have a mate but had a steady boyfriend when she was kidnapped. She has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. 2 of the brothers are married with kids as well as 1 of the sisters.
Gusissi Ugde Ghaolh A Sandghost from the planet Prokne in Coddington's Nebula. He is about 7 feet tall and very strong. His skin is textured like somebody made him by pressing sand into his shape. He is very broad and has very muscular legs and arms. His world is desert like with a lot of wind and heat. He needs to be in contact with sand periodically to refresh minerals in his body. He needs very little moisture to stay alive. He can survive in outer space for up to 20 minutes with no space suit or survival gear. He is married and has 3 children. The children were 9, and 11 when he was kidnapped. The oldest is a girl and the other two are twin boys. wife Kikula Aydin Ghaolh, daughter Xator Cyrp, son Xeter Yaota, son Marin Geng.
Galactic Antiquarian The ancient space ship the Bugs had found. They had been studying it for years but had not found its secrets. Ron found some of the secrets and learned to fly it although he had never had it out of the mother ship. The space ship was 579 feet long and 175 feet in diameter.
Bacultsie Galaxy Galaxy where the Alcantaran Key is located. It is 5000 years in our past and located inside a moon of a gas giant planet. The planet is in a blue super giant star's solar system.
Dolores Dolores is a robotic chef and house keeper. She was made in Europaische in the Kita Kinabula galaxy. She is 6 feet tall and moves around on tracks. Her body can swivel 360 degrees and she can go up and down stairs. She is cone shaped on the bottom that tapers to a cylinder at the waist. From a distance she looks like an old fashioned lady in an ankle length dress. She has for arms which she uses for cooking and other chores. She is a world class chef but has a small defect. She talks but occasionally for no apparent reason she will break into gibberish. Her insides are hollow and she stores a broom, mop, cooking utensils such as spatulas, spoons, fork and knives and other equipment to help with her cooking. She is very protective of her owners and has the personality of 'Aunt Bea'.
Kota Kinabula Dar Es Salaam Trader that was kidnapped by the Bugs. Helped train Ron, Tik and Gus to fly. He escaped in the damaged freighter the Bugs found when the trio escaped. Xiamen's nephew.
Zibo ao Te Wife of Kota. She had been trailing the mother ship trying to find proof that Kota was on it. She intercepted Bug planetary flyers when they tried to recapture Kota. Niece of Kita Kinobala.
Galactic Zephyr Damaged freighter that the Bugs 'salvaged' before Kota's escape. The Bugs didn't offer the usual help to the freighter crew. Kota used the freighter to escape from the mother ship.
Sylar Yu 2nd officer on Galactic Zephyr. He's working to get experience and money to have his own ship.
Xiamen Yuanfa Fujian Abdijan Dar Es Salaam Trader, the Grand Advocate, Seeker of Truth, Cataloger of the Stars and Trader to the Planets leader of the group.

Apapa Huyong Mombasa Cotonou Dar Es Salaam Trader, Assistant Grand Advocate, Alien Culture Expert and Navigator. Chief medical officer and biological expert.
Thatera Morababad Irondecor Fahiim Dar Es Salaam Trader, Assistant Seeker of Truth and Cataloger of the Stars. Does most of the maintenance, but not overly confident about mechanical and electrical matters.

The Bugs
The Challeka Traders of Elgebar V are like giant cockroaches that can walk upright. They stand almost 4 feet high when standing upright and about 18" high on all six limbs. They need 2 legs and the back of their abdomen to hold them upright and have four more arms that have two fingers with an opposable thumb. Their fingers have suction cups on the tips which allow them to climb walls, etc, but hinders using tools. They have an aversion to sunlight or any bright light. They wear a robe with a hood that covers them from head to toe. They have a full mask inside the hood to block all light. In the space ship they are most comfortable out of the robe and walking on all six appendages like a normal cockroach. They are very colony oriented and do not like to be alone. They have a low grade of ESP and communicate with clicks, chirps and hisses. They can send a sort of Morse code by rubbing their middle legs together. It gives off a very high pitched sound usually above human hearing capabilities. They are trying to set up the Mesilou Group to rival the Charter Alliance. They are working on the Hanami Federation to get them to join their Group. They could dominate entire sections of the known universe.
Alcantara Ancient race that was very advanced in technology. They have left behind traces of this technology but no clue about their disappearance. Ships that find any of the technology, generally become very rich because there is a great demand to know more about how the items work. Nodac-Liujia Bugs allies. Their planet is dark and dingy with garbage everywhere. They are a brutal people with no scruples. The inhabitants had large stooped bodies with long arms like an ape. Their faces were covered with a short bristly whisker and reminded Ron of a warthog. The lower jaw stuck out and had two tusks that stuck out of their mouth.
Ashrafi Huazhuang from Bfestig. Working with the Bugs to overthrow the Charter Alliance. A space ship from his planet was seen by the trio meeting in secret with the Bugs.
Puri Sasha from Uyoki. She is working with Ashrafi Huazhuang.
Nacia Detector operator on Bug battleship. He wore his space suit and lived.

Zendo Small time trader on Fen Avholog. His planet is tropical with lots of water but certain parts have high mountains.
Illyad Better know as Illy. She is the granddaughter of the head of the village that makes the healing jewelry
Odessa Illy's cousin and best friend
Binhu Head master of the village that makes the healing jewelry. Grandfather of Illyad and Odessa.
Elevin Shi Head of the CAIS (Charter Alliance Intelligence Service) Tries to recruit Kota and Zibo before trying for Ron, Gus and Tik. He is good friend to Kita.
Mikdo They were from different races but they still had more like lovers than some married people. They couldn't be intimate but they did talk, share their thoughts and dreams and liked to touch each other. Part of his crew from former days. She owns Zeta Galactic Tours and uses it for a cover for spying. She is from Squess in the Volfc Galaxy.
Elevin Shi's crew from former days: Ettari (female) and Gaubert (male), from the Sanshenge Galaxy Qing (female) and Sionn (male)from the Fruitar Galaxy.
Shadow, Inc. Spy company they set up as auxiliary to CAIS using the above spies. Gemmel is his personal spaceship.
Kita ao Te Kinobala She is a member of the Charter Alliance Council. She has zero tolerance for bureaucratic ineptness. A lot of the bureaucrats call her the 'Dragon Lady'. They are convinced that she really breathes fire and has poisonous fangs to boot. Zibo is her favorite niece.
Sim Sulawesi A Mis'stear from the galaxy Melpomene, planet Vesta IV. He is a scientist invited on Auntie to study Alcantaran relics and technology. He has studied ancient sword fighting not only on his planet but others from around the universe. He is an anthropologist as well and has studied cultures from around the galaxies.
Chenguanz 'Cheng' Figo Ge Scientist that Kota brought to study the Alcantaran relics. He was from Dar Es Salaam. He's very proud of his heritage and very curious about the Alcantarans. He is built and colored just like Kota. He and the other two have worked together for five years for the Dar Es Salaam Traders.
Hammurabi 'Ham' Aal Taher Scientist that Kota brought to study the Alcantaran relics. He is from Pazhou in the Ambartsumian's Knot. He is 5' 8" and slightly built. He had long flappy ears and very sad eyes. He is very strong for his size and is an expert in Yantai, a form of karate. All of his body is a lethal weapon and he teaches how to use what ever is at hand as a lethal weapon.
Von Vanshur Scientist that Kota brought to study the Alcantaran relics. He is from Massalia in the Zeta Ophiuchi Galaxy. Studies military tactics as a hobby.
Erelah Alaikum Lead trainer for Earth recruits. He flew to Earth with Xiamen.
Ciera Modori Assistant to Erelah Alaikum.
Zeta Ophiuchi Galaxy that the headquarters of the Charter Alliance is located in. The planet is Vibilia and the major city is Amali. The people from Vibilia have had space travel for 5000 years. Zeta Ophiuchi

Ships the Trio uses
Sara Qinte The ship looked like a giant elongated horseshoe crab without the tail. The ship was about twenty feet high, seventy-five feet long and thirty feet wide. The back of the ship was flat and could open to allow cargo to be loaded. There were bulges along both sides that contained the four rail guns that fired the plasma balls. Gus' twins had added four of their improved rail guns that fired the smaller depleted uranium rounds and two of the rail guns that fired the bigger rounds. The ship didn't look much like a warship but it had the capabilities to take on a squadron of 15 or 20 of the Bug's warships. The engines were one thing that made a huge difference. They were a new improved version and could run circles around Auntie's engines. These engines would move the ship in any direction at incredible speeds. If they were viewed from the ground, they would appear to move completely across the horizon in seconds. They could move at this speed and then make 90 degree turns at the same speed.

Leon Platter Head of NSA. Has worked in intelligence for years. Has private files on many government, military leaders, community leaders and union leadership that would make J Edgar Hoover proud. He is a behind the scenes worker to give the President much of the power he wields.

Major General Richard Murphy Army Special Liaison to the White House. West Point grad and war hero from Desert Storm. Has very powerful friends that helped move his career and has played the political game to achieve his rank. Trusted by the President
Vice-Admiral Ed Holbrooke Naval Special Liaison to WH Comes from very wealthy family who are close friends with ‘the Big Donor’. Family has used influence to speed promotions and his appointment to WH staff was at the request of Big Donor. He & Dennis Mitchell work together to keep Big Donor abreast of anything happening at the WH.
Earl Allison White House Chief of Staff. Was in higher echelons of union, having worked his way up from the bottom. He knew where a lot of the skeletons were buried. Has lots of connections on both sides of the law but has a lot of his past covered.
Daniel Devaney CIA Director A political appointee who’s claim to fame was his career trying to disarm American Citizens. Has a good staff that makes things work in spite of his mistakes.
Feely Qingdao WH Information Czar Born in India. Controls all public info, including labels and news releases. Monitors all private internet emails concerning WH.
Todd Fried WH Intelligence Czar Retired Navy. Very paranoid about his position but has very little real world experience. Blames American organizations for regional wars.
Earl J Scott Regulatory Czar Former judge. Thinks free speech needs to be limited for the greater good. Working to control news media and internet.
Dennis Mitchell Science Czar Has no science training but trying to sway scientist to prove his beliefs. Fierce ideological environmentalist, Sierra Club, anti-business activist. Claims US business has caused world poverty and contributed to global warming. Works with Admiral Ed Holbrooke to keep Big Donor abreast of all happenings at the WH.
Nancy-Ann Carter Terrorism Czar Anti CIA activist. No training in diplomatic or government affairs. Believes open borders and a dialog with terrorists will bring world peace.
Gary Carrion Technology Czar No technology training whatsoever. Worked for the ABC company, a health care think-tank for hospitals. Supports health care rationing and salaried doctors working exclusively for the Gov’t.
